product evaluation

To evaluate the streaming capabilities of Novell® ZENworks® Application Virtualization 8.0, you must request a public key/private key pair. This key pair is used to validate that the application being streamed was created by you. To obtain the key pair, click the Application Streaming Evaluation button below.

Evaluate Application Streaming

This is a link to the Novell Customer Center, where you can log in and retrieve your key pair. The key pair lets you create streaming applications for a 60-day evaluation period. When this period ends, applications expire and can no longer be launched or streamed.

product description

ZENworks Application Virtualization 8.0 helps you to convert your Windows*-compatible applications into self-contained virtual applications. When an application is virtualized, it becomes a single, isolated file that can run instantly from anywhere, including a thumb drive. Unlike traditional installation methods, the single virtual application file does not require a separate setup process or rely on external components and runtimes, reboots, or administrative privileges. The application is isolated from other system applications, preventing DLL conflicts and other deployment issues, but the experience for the application’s user is unchanged.

important product capabilities

flexible configuration choices

ZENworks Application Virtualization provides three methods to create and configure virtualized applications. The best method depends on the nature of the application.

integration with zenworks configuration management

You can control how virtual applications are used by creating and publishing ZENworks bundles, then distributing them through ZENworks Configuration Management.

streaming applications from the web

ZENworks Application Virtualization lets you profile and build virtual applications that you can deploy to the Spoon Standalone service running on a Web server. Users can then use a Web browser to access and stream the applications to their desktops.

streaming applications from a network share

ZENworks Application Virtualization lets you profile and build virtual applications that you can deploy to a shared network location. Users can then use the ModelPlay command line utility to access and stream the applications to their desktops.

application lifespan

ZENworks Application Virtualization lets you determine when a virtual application expires, so that you can lock down its usable lifespan, if necessary.

multi-platform support

ZENworks Application Virtualization now supports building applications for multiple platforms.
