D.8 Logging configuration parameter (novell-prebootlookup.conf)

The novell-prebootlookup file enables you to configure the prebootlookup.log file setting.

Windows: %ZENWORKS_HOME%\conf\preboot\novell-prebootlookup.conf

Linux: /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/ novell-prebootlookup.conf

The novell-prebootlookup file includes following parameters:

  • LogLevel: Specifies the debug log level.

    Following are the defined log levels:

    SERVICE_INFO

    Logs the settings from the config.xml and novell-prebootlookup files.

    ERROR

    Logs error messages in the file.

    WARNING

    Logs all warning messages in the file.

    FUNCTIONAL_INFO

    Logs the function information that is executed when a client request is received.

    5

    INFO

    Logs information useful in troubleshooting problems in the file.

    6

    PARAM_INFO

    This is the maximum log level, which logs all messages useful for troubleshooting.

    The default log level is 5.

  • MaxLogFileSize: Specifies the maximum size of the prebootlookup.log file. When the log file exceeds the MaxLogFileSize, it is backed up as a zip file and a new log is created. The MaxLogFileSize is in Mega Bytes

    The default file size is 10 MB.

  • BackupFileCount: Specifies the number of closed files to be retained as backup.

    The default number is 10.

After changing the settings in novell-prebootlookup.conf file, restart the ZENServer and ZENLoader services.

After system update, the novell-prebootlookup.conf file settings will be retained.
