Specify how you want the to reconcile the existing devices with the new devices that come for registration in the Management Zone.
You can choose to reconcile the existing device object with the new device by using one or more of the following attributes:
By default,and are selected.
For instance, you can match the MAC address of the existing device with that of the new device during its registration with the ZENworks server. If the MAC address of the new device matches with that of the existing device object, then the new device is reconciled with the existing device..
Select thecheck box to compare and differentiate the existing device object with the new device during registration based on the following parameters:
If Checked: By default, the Enable Differentiation check box is selected. In this case a device with matching values for all selected attributes is reconciled with the existing device.
If you have checkedand , then the Serial Number and MAC address of the existing device should match with Serial Number and MAC address of the new device for the reconciliation to be effective
If you have checkedand and , then all these parameters of the existing device should match with the new device.
If Unchecked: If you do not select thecheck box and if you select more than one reconciliation attribute, the device is reconciled with the existing device objects even if only one of the selected parameters match.
You have deselected thecheck box and have selected , and Hostname reconciliation attributes, then you can expect the following:
If there is an existing device with identical Serial Number or MAC address, then the new device is reconciled with that of the existing device.
If there are multiple devices with identical Serial Number or MAC address, then the device with identical serial number would be given priority.
