This section provides information about migrating the content repository (Externally mounted or in Network drive) manually. This section outlines the steps to back up and restore the content-repository manually. For more information, see Content Repository.
When you migrate Content Repository, there will be following scenarios:
If the Content Repository exists on the same machine from which you are migrating the ZENworks server, then use the following options to back up and restore the Content Repository:
Option A: Using the ZENserver Migration Tool
This method is recommended only if the Content Repository size is less than 50GB.
Backup the Content-Repository:
Use the ZENworks Server Migration Tool to create a backup of the content-repository on your Windows machine.
Restore the Content-Repository:
Transfer the backup file to the Appliance machine. For more information, see Moving Backed- up Data. Use the ZENworks Server Migration Tool on the Appliance machine to restore the content-repository.
Option B: Using Third-Party Tools
This method is used for the Content Repository size is more than 50GB.
Backup the Content-Repository:
Copy the content-repository directory (typically located at ZENSERVER_HOME/work/content-repo) from the Windows machine
Transfer the Backup:
Use third-party tools or libraries to transfer the content-repository to the Appliance machine. For detailed instructions, refer to the Moving Backed-Up Data Section.
Restore the Content Repository:
Restore the transferred Content Repository in /var/opt/microfocus/zenworks/content-repo on the Appliance machine.
If the Content Repository is stored on an externally mounted disk or on a network share drive, then perform the following steps to back up and restore the Content Repository:
Unplug/Unmount the external disk or network share drive from the Windows machine.
Plug/Mount the external disk or network share drive to the Appliance machine.
Ensure the content repository is correctly mounted and accessible on the Appliance machine. For more information, see Content Repository.
