The following sections list the common environment in which you can install all management products included with Novell® ZENworks® 6.
Individual ZENworks management products might have different software version requirements. If you are not installing multiple ZENworks products together, you can follow the requirements included in the product documentation; however, if multiple products are installed on the same server, you need to follow the requirements for the common environment.
For example, Desktop Management supports Novell eDirectoryTM 8.x or later while Novell exteNd DirectorTM 4.1 (used with Web Self-Service) requires eDirectory 8.6.2 or later. If you install the Desktop Management server software and Novell exteNd Director software to separate servers, the eDirectory replicas on the servers must meet the individual product requirements. However, if you install the two products to the same server, the eDirectory replicas must meet the requirement (version 8.6.2) listed for the common environment.
