25.2 Preparing the Linux Middle Tier Server to Export the Trusted Root Certificate

After the Apache Web server is configured with SSL for use on Linux servers (OES Linux or SLES 9 SP1 or later), the Desktop Management Agent still requires importing the trusted root certificate.

Use the following steps to export the trusted root certificate for the default Linux CA:

  1. In YaST, select Security and Users > CA Management, select YaST_Default_CA, select Enter CA, then enter the root password at the prompt.

  2. Click Advanced, then select the Export to File option.

  3. Select Only the Certificate in PEM format.

  4. In the File Name field, enter the full path where you want to save the root certificate with a .crt extension, for example, /root/ca_root_cert.crt.

The trusted root certificate is created and ready to import to Windows workstations.
