5.1 Re-enabling the Muscle Migration Function

Muscle Migration, the Desktop DNA Personality Migration function that lets you migrate applications that do not have scripts available, is disabled by default in ZENworks 7 Personality Migration. To re-enable it, you need to manually edit the ddnaoptions.dox file, an XML-formatted file created when you run Personality Migration the first time after installation.

NOTE:Re-enabling the Muscle function in Personality Migration affects only the Personality Migration interface and does not re-enable Muscle Migration in the template.

Use the following steps to manually edit the ddnaoptions.dox file after you run Personality Migration for the first time.

  1. Navigate to the directory where Personality Migration is installed by default: c:\program files\novell zenworks personality migration.

  2. In the installation directory, locate the ddnaoptions.dox file (this file is created the first time you start Personality Migration).

  3. Right click the file, select Open With, select Notepad (or any other text editor).

NOTE:If you merely double-click the file, it opens in the default Web browser, which is not designed to be an editing tool.

The selected text editor opens ddnaoptions.dox.

  4. In the Command Line option section (the first section) of the file, select /Disable MuscleMigrationDLG, then delete this selection.

Make sure that you do not delete any tags (for example, </Value>) surrounding this text.

  5. In the text editor, click File > Save to save the modified ddnaoptions.dox file in its installed location.

The next time you execute a migration, the Muscle function is enabled and ready to use.
