1.0 Known Issues

The following issues have been identified.

1.1 Installing the ZENworks Handheld Management Server on the Same Machine that Has eDirectory Installed

  • If the ZENworks Handheld Management Server is running on the same machine as Novell eDirectoryTM, the ZENworks Handheld Management Server fails to start successfully when enabling HTTP unless the HTTP port is changed in cfgip.exe. By default, eDirectory uses port 80, which is the same default port that ZENworks Handheld Management Server uses. Both services cannot listen on the same port.
  • The ZENworks Handheld Management Server installation fails if the following scenarios occur at the same time:
    • The ZENworks Handheld Management Server is running on the same machine as Novell eDirectory.
    • The machine is registered as a workgroup in the network.
    • The network has Workgroup as one of the domains.
    • During the ZENworks Handheld Management Server installation, you select Workgroup as the domain.

Workaround: During the ZENworks Handheld Management Server installation, select Local Machine as the domain.

1.2 Server Installation or Uninstallation Might Generate Ikernel Errors on Windows XP

ZENworks Handheld Management server installation or uninstallation might generate Ikernel errors. These errors are not ZENworks related. They occur because of certain issues with the InstallShield* used by ZENworks Handheld Management install program. You can ignore these error messages.

For more information, refer to the InstallShield Web site.
