2.0 Known Issues

The following issues have been identified.

2.1 Installing the ZENworks Handheld Management Server on the Same Machine Where eDirectory Is Installed

  • If the ZENworks Handheld Management Server is running on the same machine as Novell eDirectory™, the ZENworks Handheld Management Server fails to start successfully when enabling HTTP unless the HTTP port is changed in cfgip.exe. By default, eDirectory uses port 80, which is the same default port that ZENworks Handheld Management Server uses. Both services cannot listen on the same port.
  • The ZENworks 7 Handheld Management Server with SP1 installation fails if the following scenarios occur at the same time:
    • The ZENworks Handheld Management Server is running on the same machine as Novell eDirectory.
    • The machine is registered as a workgroup in the network.
    • The network has Workgroup as one of the domains.
    • During the ZENworks Handheld Management Server installation, you select Workgroup as the domain.

Workaround: During the ZENworks Handheld Management Server installation, select Local Machine as the domain.

2.2 Server Installation or Uninstallation Might Generate Ikernel Errors on Windows XP

ZENworks Handheld Management server installation or uninstallation might generate Ikernel errors. These errors are not ZENworks related. They occur because of certain issues with the InstallShield* used by ZENworks Handheld Management install program. You can ignore these error messages.

For more information, refer to the InstallShield Webag site.

  1. Click Stop Client.

The Stop Client button changes to Start Client.

2.4 Configuring MAPI Profile with Microsoft Exchange Server for BlackBerry Support in ZENworks Handheld Management

When ZENworks Handheld Management Server is configured to use a MAPI profile that connects to an e-mail account on Microsoft Exchange Server, the mail transport might fail to initialize.

Workaround: When creating the Windows User Account for ZENworks Handheld Management for Servers, use the same username and password as that of the mail account on the Exchange Server, for more information, see Section 2.2.1, Creating the ZENworks Handheld Management Server's Windows User Account .

2.5 Installing the ZENworks Handheld Management Server on a Windows 2000 Server with SQL Server As the External Database

When ZENworks Handheld Management Server is installed on the Windows 2000 Server machine with Microsoft SQL Server as the external database, it might not be able to connect to the remote SQL Server machine.

Workaround: Install Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 or higher on the Windows 2000 Server machine before installing the ZENworks Handheld Management Server.
