Performing Prerequisite Tasks

Before performing the test scenarios contained in this section, you should have already installed the ZfH software. You should also perform the following prerequisite tasks:

• Changing the Directory Scan Interval
• Creating the Handheld Package Object

Changing the Directory Scan Interval

You should change the Directory Scan Interval from the default of one hour to one minute. A one-minute interval will allow you to perform the steps in the scenarios and then examine the results of the software distribution or policy without waiting an hour for the default directory scan to occur. With a one-minute scan interval, you can immediately synchronize your test handheld device and examine the results of the procedures in ConsoleOne^® or on the actual device.

To change the Directory Scan Interval:

1. In ConsoleOne, right-click the ZfH Service object, then click Properties to display the General page.

2. Change the Scan Interval to one minute, then click OK.

Creating the Handheld Package Object

Before you can set up ZfH policies, you must create the Handheld Package object in ConsoleOne.

1. Right-click the container that will hold your policy packages > click New > click Policy Package.

2. Select Handheld Package.

3. Click Next.

4. Give the policy package a short name, then click Next.

5. Click Finish.
