The Management and Monitoring Services provides the following new features:
Database Object Editor (DOE): Used as a supplement to the Discovery System. The Discovery System discovers the information about various entities in the network, and populates the database, but might not be able to discover all the information about all the entities in the network, or it could discover some incorrect information about the network. If this happens you can use DOE to add, remove, or edit a node or a segment in the database.
Unified Services View: Serves as a filter on the atlas. It helps you to filter the list of all devices or segments of a particular type, and also check if the devices and segments are manageable or not. The unified view is a snap-in at the atlas level. The view is provided for both devices and segments, and the user can filter all, manageable or unmanageable devices, or segments. The result of the filter is displayed in a tabular view.
File-Based Discovery: An enhancement to IPGroper.NLM enables you to manually discover servers based on IP addresses when the routers are not enabled for an SNMP access.
Alarm Summary View: This is another view with a graphical representation for the summary of alarms that you have received. The alarm summary view displays the summary of alarms as a pie graph, bar graph, and as a trend. You can customize the view to display the graphical information you want to view.
Reporting: The Computer system by Segment report, Router report and the Segment report have been transitioned from JReports to Crystal Reports*.
