Explanation: In a DHCP environment, the DHCP server assigns an IP address to a client when the client requests one. The IP address is released when the client is shut down. During the process of releasing the IP address to the DHCP server, the client sends a DHCPRELEASE packet. If this packet does not reach the DHCP server, false duplicate IP address alarms will be generated.
