Novell offers two support programs for OpenOffice.org Novell Edition:

  1. Standard subscriptions
  2. Priority subscriptions

Subscriptions entitle customers to several key things. First, customers receive product test files (PTFs) for individual bug fixes they file along with critical security patches and maintenance updates. They also have the ability to request features for future versions of OpenOffice.org Novell Edition. In addition, customers get technical support. A standard subscription provides unlimited 12x5 electronic and telephone support. A priority subscription provides unlimited 24x7 electronic and telephone support, both based on the duration of the subscription.

File format interoperability is a key benefit Novell provides customers. OpenOffice.org Novell Edition is compatible with all major Microsoft Office file formats, including the Office OpenXML (OOXML) formats found in Microsoft Office 2007. Novell will support and provide bug fixes and updates for issues reported by customers on features concerning file format interoperability. OpenOffice.org Novell Edition also supports Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Visual Basic for Applications enables integration of complex macros into documents and spreadsheets. Issues reported by customers involving Microsoft VBA macros, or any other interoperability issues, are evaluated by our team of engineering professionals and bug fixes will be provided in the same methods previously mentioned.
