Virtualized desktops have traditionally been served from dedicated machines in the datacenter. Serving them from the cloud seems like a logical next natural step when it comes to meeting the needs of a rapidly changing and increasingly mobile workforce. But is this happening? What are the realities of running virtualized desktops or “DaaS” in the cloud today? Are there emerging applications that people are testing on VDI via the cloud? What are the major barriers to adoption and how or when will they be resolved?
