SUS18: The New Btrfs Filesystem for Linux: Features and Tools – Lecture
This module covers the basic features and tools of the new Btrfs filesystem in SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2. Btrfs is a new, radically different filesystem for the Linux operating system. This new filesystem will alter and improve many of the traditional Linux filesystem administration techniques.
This course will introduce Btrfs and the standard tools used to administer it. Topics will include:
* Creating and working with sub-volumes
* Converting from ext3 filesystems to btrfs
* Disk spanning
* The snapper management tool
* Creating and using snapshots and roll-back features with snapper and btrfs
