On its initial release, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (SLED10) met widespread acclaim for it’s smoothly polished look and feel, and some of the interface updates that it introduced to the GNOME desktop. In the pre-interview, Anna explained that her name is pronounced “AH-na.” Said Anna: “My name doesn’t rhyme with Banana.” Moments later, Erin welcomes her onto the show as “Anna,” perfectly rhyming it with Banana.
Anna really talks that fast, and she really sounds that sweet. Ted intends to nominate her for “Nicest Linux Community Member 2007.”
We had to edit out a significant amount of laughter after Dave got us with the “Slash-My-Slash-Throat” comment.
Notice how little stuff there is besides the two main segments? We were afflicted with the podcaster’s equivalent of writer’s block.

NOA Backstage:

Truth is that we have dispatched Erin with a lead pipe in the library. He won’t be back.
Did Ted ever mention that his middle name is Scarlett? But don’t call him Miss.

Funny Little Men Behind the Curtain:

Kudos go to South Africa’s Laura Buckley for throwing down the gauntlet that prompted this follow-on interview with Jason. Also, kudos to Jason, who has given over quite a bit of his time to the Novell Open Audio listener community this month.
Based on listener feedback, we’re adapting our News from Support segment to supply more cool Linux tips and how-to’s. Please post a comment to let us know what you think.
We totally forgot to address the perfectly cromulent listener trivia from our last News from Support segment…and there was a winner, too! We’ll announce in our next edition of News from Support.
Will the suggester of Cygwin provide an audio rebuttal to David’s refutation of Cygwin? Could such a rebuttal actually shut Dave up? The suspense is killing us…
To what movie did Ted refer to this time? Do you think there’s a NOA shirt attached to that question? Does it require an audio reply to win? So many questions…

Funny Little (Wo)Men Behind the Curtain:

Several listeners have requested the return of “Funny Little Men,” our oft-overlooked meta data section on some of the old episode files. Maybe we’ll start hiding them here.
Hannes believes his accent to be pure Scottish. Dave Mair begs to differ, but admits that Hannes speaks English better than either Erin or Ted.
We never actually intended to bleep out the part that we suggested might need a bleepin’. Said Ted: “While your hosts may not always be the utmost professionals, we vow at least that we shall keep our language squeaky clean. But guests must be allowed to be who they are.” Somehow Ted manages to keep his job.
The interview was from June…can you believe that we took so long? (Ted blames it on Erin.)
