Novell ZENworks Personality Migration does not support the

This version of Novell ZENworks Personality Migration does

Novell ZENworks Personality Migration
- When you redirect files and folders on the destination, the
Undo log for that migration shows the original path for the
files and folders. When you undo the migration using that
undo log, the redirected files are removed from their new
location.
- If the Windows firewall is enabled on your Windows XP SP2
computer, you get a message indicating Novell ZENworks
Personality Migration cannot establish a connection between
the source and destination computers in a real-time
migration. Windows XP SP2 has a built-in firewall. The
firewall is on by default, and blocks communication between
the XP SP2 system and any other computer. This prevents a
real-time migration from connecting. You must first turn
off the firewall setting before you perform the real-time
migration. To turn off the XP firewall:
- Select Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet
Connections, Select Network Connections.
- Right-click the network connection you are using for Novell
ZENworks Personality Migration and select Properties.
- In the Advanced tab turn off the Internet Connection
Firewall.
- Close the control panel and start your migration.
- If the Windows firewall is enabled on your Windows Vista
computer, you get a message (for a real-time migration)
indicating that Windows firewall has blocked some features
of this program and has also blocked this program from
accepting incoming network connections. If you unblock this
program, it will be unblocked on all the private networks
that you connect to. This indicates that Novell ZENworks
Personality Migration cannot establish a connection between
the source and destination computers in a real-time
migration.
Windows Vista has a built-in firewall. The firewall is on
by default and blocks communication between the Vista
system and any other computer. This prevents a real-time
migration from connecting. You must first turn off the
firewall setting before you perform the real-time
migration. To turn off the Vista firewall for this program,
you can use one of the following two alternatives:
In the first alternative, follow these steps to turn off
the Windows Vista firewall before running Novell ZENworks
Personality Migration:
- Select Start, Control Panel, Windows Firewall, Select
Change settings.
- Select the Exceptions tab, Select Add Program and add
Novell ZENworks Personality Migration and select its check
box if it is not already checked. By default, the check box
is always checked.
- Close the Control Panel and start your migration.
In the second alternative, the above mentioned message
prompts you to choose from the two options: Keep blocking
and Unblock. You must select the Unblock option and
continue the migration. It will never display this message
in future.
- If you are creating a revision of a DNA file, and the only
changes made to a document are NTFS security changes, a
revision of the file is not saved in the DNA file. To save
the new NTFS security changes, you must make a change to
the contents of the document.
- With Windows 95 you may not automatically have a compatible
version of Winsock available. There is a service pack
available online on the Windows 95 downloads page at
http://www.microsoft.com for upgrading Windows 95 sockets.
- When using templates for creating a DNA file where the
template uses filters, and also omits some folders, the
template merges the omit filters incorrectly.
- On Windows Vista, if you log in as a non-administrator user
and try to perform the current user migration, some of the
settings may not migrate. This happens because by default
non-administrator users do not have access privileges on
the Program Files folder, Windows folder, and some of the
registry keys (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE). To complete the
migration successfully, you must log in as an administrator
or as a user with access privileges on these resources.
Internationalized Novell ZENworks Personality Migration
- You must use the same operating system language to migrate
application settings between different languages. For
example, you can migrate a Japanese version of Office to an
English version if both are installed on a Japanese
operating system.
- On English Windows XP, if MUI is installed and Japanese is
set as the default user interface language, you cannot use
Novell ZENworks Personality Migration controls in the user
interface.
- You must enter file names and paths in the user interface
and on the command line using the operating system
language. For example, if you are using a German operating
system, you must enter file names and paths in the user
interface or the command line using German characters.
- If you create a filter in the Novell ZENworks Personality
Migration user interface that contains Unicode characters,
the files associated with the filter are not migrated. The
work around is to create the filter in the DNA Template
Editor and perform the migration using the template. The
reason the template works and the Novell ZENworks
Personality Migration user interface created filter does
not work is because a specific DLL must be installed. This
DLL is installed with the Migration Toolkit, but not with
Novell ZENworks Personality Migration.
Spanning
Windows 95 does not support the ability to save spanned DNA
files to UNC paths. If you want to save a spanned DNA file
to a UNC path from a Windows 95 system, you must first map
the destination drive to the local machine. Then you can
save the spanned DNA file to the mapped drive.
DNA Director
DNA Director does not support creating the migration of
data directories to an HTTP path.
DNA Studio
- The debugging feature in DNA Studio is not functional.
- When syntax checking scripts, you might receive a message
indicating that the process cannot check the script because
it cannot create symbols. Check the syntax for a missing
semi-colon (;). DNA Studio reports a syntax error, and this
is not a failure to create symbols.
- When working in the DNA Studio workspace area, items
containing Unicode characters might not insert correctly if
you perform the insert using the menu. You must manually
add the Unicode items to the script.
An internationalized product is an English product that
runs correctly on local language versions of the required
operating system and required third-party products, and

and number formats.
A translated product (sometimes referred to as a localized
product) is an internationalized product that includes
