New Features

For a list of new features for the driver, refer to the DirXML Driver for Lotus Notes Implementation Guide, located at the Novell Product Documentation site (http://www.novell.com/documentation/lg/dirxml11a) or in the DOCUMENTATION directory at the root of the product build.

Mail Database Inheritance Flag

The mail-file-inherit-flag specifies whether a mail database should inherit changes that are made to the database template. This flag should be an attribute of the add element and can be set through a style sheet. The driver assumes this value to be True unless this flag is found on the add element. While processing an add document, the style sheet would need the following syntax to set this flag to False.

<xsl:attribute name="mail-file-inherit-flag">false</xsl:attribute>

Fixes

Collision Prevention

The default configuration uses a single certifier to register users. If the Notes driver processes a person with the same first and last name as an existing Notes person, then the driver registers the new Notes person with an extended-ou generated from the person's first and last name plus a number. This policy is defined in the Subscriber Command Transformation style sheet.

For example, if Joe Jones already exists as a registered person in a Notes organization called NotesOrg, and a second Joe Jones needs to be registered within NotesOrg, then the driver will register the second Joe Jones in an extended-ou named Joe Jones1. The first Joe Jones would appear as JOE JONES/NotesOrg and the second Joe Jones would appear as JOE JONES/JOE JONES1/NotesOrg.

We recommend that extended-ou be used only as part of a collision prevention scheme. Modify the query to be specific to the certifier you use and change the value of the extended-ou to support your business policy. If you modify style sheets to use the extended-ou for other purposes, the default name collision prevention defined in the style sheets could be compromised.

Known Issues

Polling Rate

We recommend that you set the polling interval for NDSREP at 60 seconds.

Group Member Lists

On some older versions of Notes, the driver may experience problems populating a group member list if their are no existing members in the group. If you see this problem, manually add the first member to the group. After the first member has been added, the driver will populate the group member list without problem.
