NWCONFIG


Purpose

Use at the server console to


Syntax

[LOAD] [ path]NWCONFIG

Parameter Use to

path

Specify the path to NWCONFIG if you moved it from the default directory.


Using NWCONFIG

The following table describes each option found on the NWCONFIG main menu.

NOTE:  For information about NWCONFIG options, press F1 from any NWCONFIG window.

Menu Option Use to

Driver Options

Load and unload disk and LAN drivers.

Standard Disk Options

Create or change disk partitions and Hot Fix.
Mirror or unmirror partitions and recover data from an out-of-sync partition.
Scan for additional devices to make the server aware of new devices added to the server.
Initialize a hard disk.
Create, delete, modify, mount, and dismount NetWare volumes.

NSS Disk Options

Set up and manage Novell's advanced file system, Novell® Storage ServicesTM (NSS).

License Option

Install and remove licenses and re-create licensing objects in the NDSTM tree.

Copy Files Option

Copy NetWare files to various directories on volume Sys.

Directory Options

Install and remove NDS.
Upgrade NetWare 3.x bindery information to the NDS tree.
Upgrade mounted volumes into the NDS tree.
Back up the NDS tree; restore the NDS tree after a hardware upgrade or failure; restore references to the server after the NDS tree is restored.

NCF Files Options

Create and edit the startup.ncf and autoexec.ncf files.
Upgrade a NetWare 3.1x autoexec.ncf file to meet NetWare 5TM requirements.

Multi CPU Options

Select a Platform Support Module (PSM) appropriate for your multiprocessing server hardware.

Product Options

Install and configure additional NetWare or third-party products; remove additional products from the server.
