Perform the following steps to change the DNS on a Satellite Server:
In ZCC, add the additional DNS name (for example, test.epm.blr.novell.com) for the Satellite Server, by selecting the Satellite Server object and navigating to Settings → Infrastructure Management → Additional DNS Names.
NOTE:Currently the addition of DNS name is applicable only on server class devices and not on workstations class devices.
Execute the zman location-response-recompute -f (or) zman lrr -f command to re-compute the location configuration response so that the managed devices can be aware of the new name.
Change the hostname of the Satellite Server to the new hostname that was added in Step 1. It is recommended that this is done after all the managed devices (that contacts this satellite server) are refreshed. If not, the devices will not be able to reach the server.
Reboot the Satellite Server.
Update the new hostname of the satellite in the DNS server configuration.
Execute the zac refresh (or) zac ref command on the Satellite Server to ensure that the new hostname is updated in DB immediately.
Rename the Satellite Server object in ZCC to only the hostname that was added in Step 1 (in our example, test is the name).
Execute the zman location-response-recompute -f (or) zman lrr -f command to re-compute the location configuration response so that the requesting devices can obtain the latest changes and CSRs are updated.
Test the communication between the ZENworks agent and the ZENworks Primary via Satellite Server and ensure that they can communicate with each other via Satellite Server.
