Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I install the SecretStore service?
Install Novell SecretStoreTM on a server that has a read/write replica.
When I create an nssoSingleSignon object in context, do I have to assign a configuration object to a user?
No. The NSSO system works through the following steps, stopping when it finds the necessary information.
- Use the configuration distinguished name on the User object
- Look for the setting on the container object
- Look for a configuration object the user's container
- Repeat Step 2 and Step 3, searching toward the [Root] of the tree
- If no object is found, apply defaults.
The default is v-GO lite, where full v-GO is not enabled. The system has no administrative, application or policy settings.
Where does APPLIST2.INI fit into the NSSO system?
When v-GO is running in lite (non-licensed) mode, the NSSO system uses APPLIST2.INI instead of APPLIST.INI.
I can administer Single Sign-on objects from my workstation, but I can't see SecretStore Manager. What happened?
During installation, you probably elected to install just ConsoleOneTM and the snap-in. You didn't install other NSSO components.
