System Requirements

Prerequisites

The following must be set up before you use Novell Audit:

NICI: Any NetWare server that will report eDirectory events must be updated with the NICI 2.6.5 or later. This update is available at download.novell.com.
eDirectory: eDirectory 8.7 or later must be installed and configured in your environment.
iManager: Novell Audit is configured using the Novell Audit iManager plug-in, which requires iManager 2.01 or later.

Secure Logging Server Requirements

The Secure Logging Server, the server component in this product, must be installed on a server that meets the following requirements:

Operating System: Open Enterprise Server; NetWare® 6.5; Windows 2003 Server; Windows 2000 Server SP4 or later; SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9; Red Hat Linux AS an ES (3 and 4); or Solaris 8, 9, or 10
eDirectory: Novell eDirectory™ 8.7 or later
Processor: A single processor, server-class PC with a Pentium II 400 Mhz
Disk Space: 40 MB
RAM: 512 MB

Platform Agent Requirements

The Platform Agent, the client component in this product, must be installed on every server or workstation running applications that log events to Novell Audit. It supports the following platforms:

Open Enterprise Server
Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server
SUSE Enterprise Linux Server 9
Red Hat AS and ES (3 and 4)
Solaris 8, 9, and 10

eDirectory Instrumentation Requirements

The eDirectory Instrumentation, which allows eDirectory events to be logged, requires that the Platform Agent be installed on the same machine. It supports the following versions of eDirectory:

eDirectory 8.7 (NetWare, Windows, Linux, and Solaris)
eDirectory 8.8 (NetWare, Windows, Linux, and Solaris)

NetWare Instrumentation Requirements

The NetWare Instrumentation, which allows NetWare events to be logged, must be loaded on every server for which you want to log NetWare and file-system events. It also requires that the Platform Agent be installed on the same machine. It supports NetWare 6.5 only.
