14.1 Rights Associated with Undeletion

As a general rule, if you have rights to move an item to the Trash, you also have rights to restore that item.

Remember the following when restoring items from the Trash:

  • You can restore an item that another user moved to the Trash, if you have appropriate rights.

  • If you have rights to restore an entry from the Trash, but do not have rights to restore the folder that contains the entry, you cannot restore the entry.

  • If you have rights to restore a folder from the Trash, but do not have rights to restore the workspace that contains the folder, you cannot restore the folder.

  • When you restore a folder from the Trash, the contents of the folder are not automatically restored. You need to restore the contents of the folder separately.

  • When you restore an entry in a folder that has been moved to the Trash, the folder is automatically restored. However, if you do not have rights to restore the folder from the Trash, you cannot restore the entry.
