Novell Buying Programs: Corporate License Agreement
Options for CLA Customers
As a CLA customer, you can continue to purchase Novell products and licenses through the Novell Buying Programs. You will continue to have access to all of the Novell benefits available to you under your CLA agreement such as Upgrade Protection, past-version license rights, indemnification, training, evaluation software and technical support.
Some of the changes you'll see in the improved programs include:
- Simplification of Novell price lists and ordering processes, including consolidation of all Novell part numbers
- Optional Maintenance
- New license counting options on select products (either device or user)
- Maintenance and Upgrade Protection offered in multi-year increments
how do these changes affect my current agreement with Novell?
Not only does your existing agreement remain intact, but you also have access to new program offerings including maintenance, additional counting methods, and multi-year purchase options. A consolidated Novell price list facilitates the order process further. You simply place orders using the appropriate program rules, part numbers and pricing for the products or services you need. You can choose to remain on your CLA and order under the VLA program rules or you can choose to move to the MLA program, gaining access to additional benefits available through that program.
For your convenience, a simple comparison table is available to help you choose which program best fits your needs. A brief overview of each program is also given below. More details can be found in the Program Overview or program guide for each program (see information below). View program comparison now.
Stay with current program. As a CLA customer, you may continue to make purchases using existing VLA program rules. You have access to all of the benefits available through the VLA program, including the new options outlined here. No contract or signature is required for this move; you simply order using VLA part numbers. As always, resellers determine final pricing for all customers in the VLA program. Novell does not provide or publish suggested discounts. Under the VLA program you may continue to use your current reseller for your orders or you may select a new Novell reseller. To learn more about the VLA program, you may review the VLA Program Guide. Learn about the VLA now.
Move to the MLA Program. You may also choose to move to the MLA program. Either a minimum purchase of USD$500,000 (counting a two-year purchase history) or an order of USD$100,000 in Maintenance will qualify you for the MLA. By moving to the MLA, you continue with a contractual relationship with Novell and lock in a higher discount. To learn more about the MLA program, you may review the MLA Program Guide.
