Novell Buying Programs
Product EULAs
Counting Options
The default counting method for any product is defined by the product EULA. Buying Program customers also have the option, on select products, to purchase licenses on a Device basis. Customers purchasing under these alternative methods should adhere to the terms below when determing license counts. An election to count by Device licenses will be considered acceptance of the terms below. Unless otherwise modified by these terms, the product EULA terms will continue to apply.
Counting by Device
When counting by device you should include laptops, desktops, workstations and terminals on which you install and use the Software and any laptops, desktops, workstations or terminals from which users access or use the Software. For more information about the Device option, please see the Program Guide pertaining to your license agreement. Only specific Novell products are eligible for use under the Device model. Eligible products include:
- Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) / NetWare
- Certain products in the ZENWorks line
- Novell Open Workgroup Suite
Business-to-Consumer and Government-to-Citizen
Business-to-Consumer and Government-to-Citizen part numbers are available for users of Novell Access Manager and Identity Manager products.* This license option allows customers supporting large numbers of users outside their own organization (e.g., providing an external solution such as an online user account for banking customers) to purchase large quantities of licenses at a discounted list price available in the Novell Corporate Price List. Customers purchasing licenses under this model must adhere to the definitions** for Business to Consumer and Government to Citizen in purchasing enough licenses to support their usage, and may not allow or enable Consumers or Citizens to have physical or administrative access to the Novell software, nor the server on which it resides. For more information please refer to the Buying Program Guides. *Various product skus within the Identity and Security product family may be excluded. **Definition of Business to Consumer and Government to Citizen can be found in the VLA and MLA Buying Program Guides.
