Copenhagen Stock Exchange Chooses Novell to Accelerate Their Transformation to eBusiness
Novell, Inc. today announced that the Copenhagen Stock Exchange has chosen Novell's Net services software to simplify and accelerate the process of managing and distributing critical information about companies listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange to their customers.
Novell, Inc. today announced that the Copenhagen Stock Exchange has chosen Novell's Net services software to simplify and accelerate the process of managing and distributing critical information about companies listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange to their customers. With the help of a consulting team from KCK A/S, a software company based in Copenhagen, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange is now using proven Novell technologies such as NDS eDirectory, BorderManager and GroupWise, as well as KCK's DocuWise*, in a Net environment to increase their responsiveness to customers, grow their business, increase revenue and dramatically lower their communication costs.
"An important source of revenue for the Copenhagen Stock Exchange comes from providing our customers with timely access to material information about companies listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange," said Thor Ringsborg Madsen, product developer for the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. "Since implementing Novell's Net services software, we have doubled the revenue that comes from the distribution of that critical information. By basing our eBusiness infrastructure on Novell products, we are able to serve more clients more efficiently than we ever have before."
Every time a material change occurs within a company listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, that company has to inform the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, which in turn must classify and archive the information, and inform its clients. Prior to implementing Novell's Net services software and KCK's DocuWise, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange used hard-copy documents for its archives and fax distribution to communicate these changes to its clientele. Today, they use an integrated document management system, using GroupWise and DocuWise, which allows them to very quickly register, classify and archive critical information for future use. GroupWise then sends e-mail notification of the stock information to a small group of primary clients using a secure VPN connection provided by Novell's BorderManager. A few minutes later another e-mail is sent to a larger group of secondary Copenhagen Stock Exchange users. Finally, GroupWise WebPublisher posts the data to a secured Web site for the remaining Copenhagen Stock Exchange customers to view. Throughout the transaction, NDS eDirectory provides secure authentication and access management which is essential in dealing with sensitive company information.
"The solution we implemented at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange is an excellent example of the power of Novell's Net services software to solve real business needs," said Jesper Bergstedt, CEO of KCK A/S. "Simply put, we helped the Copenhagen Stock Exchange 'take down the walls' that separated them from their customers in order to provide better, more personalized service via the Net. Novell's strategy and product set were the perfect match to enable the Copenhagen Stock Exchange to realize this goal."
"To help make the vision of one Net a reality, Novell is committed to providing our customers with a Net infrastructure that delivers a wide range of services universally across all types of networks," said Steve Adams, senior vice president of worldwide marketing for Novell. "The networking solution implemented at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and the real, bottom-line benefits that solution brought about is a prime example of this commitment."
