Element K becomes only Novell partner to offer Novell authorized instructor-led courseware Element K becomes sole source of Novell authorized e-learning courses Novell best-of-breed certification practices combine with Element K's leadership in e-Learning to improve training on Novell solutions
Novell, a pioneer in technology certifications, and Element K®, a leading provider of instructor-led courseware and e-Learning solutions for information technology and business skills, have joined forces to offer compelling new training options for Novell® customers. Element K, which also becomes a distributor of Novell's authorized curriculum, will develop and offer integrated e-Learning courses on Novell solutions, expanding the online training choices available to Novell customers. This new partnership with Element K reinforces Novell's continued leadership and innovation in technology education.
Training is an often-overlooked element in customer technology decisions. But with the growth of mixed networks, the emergence of new platforms, and challenges around security and management, having the right people trained is critical to keeping systems running optimally. Novell helped establish technology certifications in the early 1990s with the launch of the Certified NetWare® Engineer, now known as the Certified Novell EngineerSM (CNE®), and the number of certifications issued by Novell has surpassed 750,000. Subsequent development of a Certified Directory Engineer® program and the recent launch of its Certified Linux Engineer initiative illustrate Novell's continuing ability to identify critical training needs. Recognizing the importance of expanding training to address both increased customer demand and a greater need for flexibility, Novell has chosen to partner with Element K.
"Customers look to technology to integrate information, manage online relationships, and reduce business complexity," said Aaron Osmond, managing director for Novell Training Services. "But reducing business complexity often means increasing technical complexity. Having people who understand this complexity is key, so training is becoming a more central component of technology solutions. Our partnership with Element K is aimed at making sure Novell customers have access to authorized courseware and tools to build the expertise they need."
Element K, founded in 1982 to provide education in the nascent microprocessor market, has more than 20 years of leadership in technology education. An acknowledged innovator in integrating classroom and online learning, Element K's instructor-led courseware and e-Learning products have received wide industry recognition and adoption. Under the terms of the agreement with Novell, Element K will become an authorized distributor of Novell instructor-led courseware. In addition, Element K has been given rights to create authorized online courses relating to Novell technologies. This agreement makes Element K an additional source of authorized Novell courseware, other than Novell itself, and the only provider of authorized online courses on current Novell technologies.
"Through this partnership, Novell customers can access a single-source provider for their complete training needs - including authorized Novell instructor-led courseware and online courses as well as an extensive offering of other quality courseware and training solutions," said Bruce Barnes, Element K's CEO. "In addition, Novell's choice to partner with Element K is yet another validation of Element K's ability to provide unique training solutions for the world's leading software companies."
