Leading business-automation and data-management vendor expects to generate 25 percent more revenue with time-to-market gains achieved through Novell exteNd

SALT LAKE CITY (Novell BrainShare® 2003) and MELBOURNE, Fla. - April 15, 2003 — On April 7, 2003, Identitech Inc., a leading provider of business process management solutions, launched FYI Visual - a strategic product offering based on the Novell® exteNd™ Web application development suite. As a result, Identitech expects to deliver customer solutions more quickly and cost effectively, generating an estimated 25 percent more revenue this year alone.

Identitech's FYI Visual extracts massive amounts of data from disparate systems and provides a unique, global view of data relationships to improve operating efficiencies and decision-making. After initially looking to build the entire solution itself, Identitech opted to take advantage of an existing Web application development infrastructure as a foundation for FYI Visual. After evaluating application platform suites from a number of vendors, including Novell, IBM, BEA and Oracle, the company selected Novell's award-winning Web application development suite, Novell exteNd. Identitech chose Novell exteNd because it enables Identitech to deploy customer solutions on J2EE* application servers from IBM and BEA as well as Novell, and for its comprehensive data-integration capabilities as well as its extensible, open standards-based architecture.

Novell exteNd enables Identitech to Web service-enable ERP packages, proprietary applications and other information systems without disrupting the applications themselves. Identitech uses the drag-and-drop functionality provided by the visual development environment in Novell exteNd to quickly integrate these applications. Novell exteNd also enables Identitech to create sophisticated views of information in a personalized portal for each user.

By streamlining access to information contained in back-end systems, Novell exteNd has reduced the development time for creating customized implementations using the FYI suite. Identitech estimates that the faster time to market will result in a 25 percent boost in revenue for 2003.
