The Open Source Technology Center encourages and supports innovation in open source software technology. Initially, we have allocated prime office space at our Provo, Utah campus for the Open Source Technology Center. Emerging open source companies—just like yours—can move to the center and benefit from a from a fully equipped business infrastructure and extensive onsite resources.

Eligibility Requirements

How To Qualify
Because the Open Source Technology Center will involve companies that are on the cusp of open source development, Novell screens and selects participants based on certain criteria:

  • Participants must have a business strategy that heavily utilizes open source technology and does not directly compete with Novell
  • Participants should be early-stage companies with fewer than 15 employees
  • When participating companies grow to employ 25 full- and part-time employees, they will be ready to graduate from the center
  • Participants must meet their financial obligations and other non-financial committments
