Novell & VoiceRD

Market Start Program

Meet the Partner

"We built VoiceRD upon two key Novell technologies which serve major user needs. The first is for a low cost, turnkey appliance running SUSE Linux and AppArmor. The second is for user provisioning to synchronize identities between the PBX, voice mail, and the corporate directory."

VoiceRD™ is the rapid deployment of a fully featured Open Source VoiP PBX. The deployment is complete with hardware, software, line provisioning, network integration, professional services, and training. The PBX is based on Asterisk and is composed entirely of open source software that accesses the public switched telephone network (PSTN) through a Digium card inserted in a standard Linux server. The Digium cards interface between traditional telephony devices and VoIP equipment. The platform's user directory is Novell's eDirectory. An option is Novell's Identity Management software (IDM), which synchronizes user information such as login IDs, passwords, and rights with network directories such as Microsoft's Active Directory (ADS). This means that you administer telephone and network users once, from a single console.
