Network monitoring
NetCrunch auto-detects all devices on a network, displays them on intuitive maps, and monitors availability and response time of particular network services (e.g. http, smtp or pop3). This makes for efficient monitoring of business-critical components, such as the mail server or internet connections. Unlike other solutions which monitor only service availability, NetCrunch probes deeper into the server status, helping track such vital parameters as memory load or CPU utilization and thus predict and avert emergency situations.
Graphic maps
The program user can create hierarchical maps with links to other subnets. The maps facilitate instant problem detection by visualizing network logical hierarchy and the dependencies within it. Combined with intuitive point-and-click GUI, and the color-coding, drill-down and customization capabilities, NetCrunch can be used even by an inexperienced administrator eager to keep a constant watch on the dynamics of the network.
Alerting
To quickly identify abnormal behavior of a device, service or application (e.g. a counter exceeding a pre-defined threshold, or a service or host inaccessibility), administrators can set the desired alerting reaction to a particular situation. Reactions include sending a message to a pager, e-mail address, cell phone, or running a corrective action (to name a few).
