ENGL Zim 4.0 (Enhanced Imaging)

ENGL Zim enhances and simplifies the selection, creation and restoration of ZENworks images. With Zim the standard ZENworks boot menus (CDROM and PXE) can be replaced with a secure, branded, user friendly front-end that simplifies repetitive maintenance and imaging tasks, whilst providing a consistent interface for users and helpdesk staff.

If security is a concern, ENGL Zim can lockdown the ZENworks imaging environment by preventing unauthorized users performing imaging and partition operations from the workstation. For PXE imaging a secure contextless login panel with intruder detection can be displayed requiring eDirectory authentication. For disconnected imaging ENGL Zim can password protect ZENworks imaging with local ZENworks partitions or bootable media such as CDROM and DVD.

Using ENGL Zim, a multi-level imaging menu can be displayed based on eDirectory identity and group membership. Restore and maintenance menus can be easily scripted to automate complex imaging tasks with the ability to hide the entire ZENworks imaging process.

ENGL Zim includes native DMI support that can automate the selection and restoration of hardware specific images without using ZENworks imaging policies or rules. Zim can detect the machine's manufacturer and model information and use it to automate image restoration.
