product details
The traditional desktop lifecycle uses two key technologies. First, as a machine is taken out of its box from the manufacturer, the hard drive is imaged with the standard set of software and configurations. Then, as time goes, incremental updates are applied by a software distribution tool (like SMS or Alteris). This process relies on each desktop to perform its updates properly. Over time, updates continue to be applied until an update is not successful. Then, the machine is re-imaged and the update process starts all over again.
