product details

The S310 family of 10GbE adapters are high-performance, protocol-offloading 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters designed for servers and storage systems, supporting 10GBASE-CX, 10GBASE-T, SR optical, LR optical, or SFP+ interfaces.

With on-board hardware that offloads TCP/IP processing from its host system, the S310 allows the host to provide more CPU cycles to applications. The result: the system gets increased bandwidth, improved overall performance, and reduced message latency across connections.

The S310 also accelerates the iSCSI protocol for block-level storage traffic between servers and storage systems. With high-speed iSCSI and low latency and CPU overhead, 10GbE becomes the logical network technology for storage area networks (SANs). Ethernet-only networking reduces the data center's network adapters, cables, switches, rack space, power, equipment spares, management tools, planning, networking skills, and installation costs.
