WASP from GWAVA protects your GroupWise WebAccess from inbound email-born viruses. Its unique architecture ensures that anti-virus protection from virus-infected attachments are stopped at the WebAccess gateway before they are allowed to enter your GroupWise system. Today's viruses move fast. They sneak in through email attachments, web downloads, free email accounts, and instant messages. These are backdoors to your GroupWise system. Only WASP sits at the GroupWise WebAccess Gateway, protecting your GroupWise system from the inside out.
GroupWise WebAccess
GroupWise WebAccess bypasses the GWIA gateway when delivering email. WebAccess communicates directly with the Post Office, delivering email and their attachments directly to the GroupWise Post Office database. This allows unsuspecting GroupWise WebAccess users to inadvertently upload virus-infected email attachments that bypass your perimeter defense at the GWIA. WASP is uniquely designed to interact with the WebAccess Gateway. WASP actively scans for incoming attachments from WebAccess. It interfaces with up to four Anti-Virus engines simultaneously, ensuring the highest level of protection from viruses.
Enhanced protection through Fingerprinting
Certain file formats, like PIF & SCR, may be considered too high an infection risk. Other file formats like AVI or JPG may be considered inappropriate or not work-related. WASP is able to scan the file and determine its true nature, even if the file extension has been renamed. This is called Fingerprinting. This means that a file with an .exe extension that has been changed will still be identified by WASP as a dangerous file, even though the extension might be completely different. Many viruses attachments today can be quickly stopped through this method of Fingerprinting. Futureproofing is built into WASP against future viruses that rely on masking their identities to sneak into your system. WASP lets you know that dangerous file types will always be blocked, no matter the file name.
