IBM Director 4.1 xSeries

IBM Director 4.1 systems management software automates the management of Intel-based servers through tasks such as inventory, monitoring and alerting, event actions and system health checks. It also enables seamless integration with end-to-end heterogeneous environments using Tivoli solutions and allows customers to maximize server availability and reduce downtime. The new version provides a framework that can be extended with 'plug-ins' for advanced management and comes pre-loaded with automated configuration wizards for easy deployment and set-up.

IBM Director 4.1 also includes the ability to integrate many key optional management modules to deliver a single point of management. These include:

• Server Plus Pack -- Advanced, predictive tools with self-managing technologies that help deliver optimal server performance and high availability.

• Remote Deployment Manager -- A tool that provides "drag and drop" features to remotely replicate the installation of multiple systems.

• Software Distribution Premium Edition -- An application that helps distribute software packages remotely from a single console, helping to save on travel and labor costs.

• Application Workload Manager by Aurema -- A tool designed to produce higher server utilization by protecting availability and performance of workloads on that server.
