XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0 for Linux® is the follow-on release to VisualAge® C++ V6.0 for Linux, and supports IBM systems using the following operating systems:
- SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9).
XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0 for Linux generates highly-optimized 32-bit and 64-bit application code to exploit the capabilities of:
- IBM PowerPC, POWER3, POWER4, and POWER5 processors.
- IBM BladeCenter JS20 systems with the PowerPC 970 processor.
- Apple Power Mac G5 and Xserve G5 systems.
XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0 for Linux also includes a complete implementation of the OpenMP C/C++ API, Version 2.0. You can use OpenMP APIs to take advantage of improved program performance potential on machines featuring multiple processors.
The compiler includes all of the common XL C/C++ compiler features described on the XL C/C++ Features and benefits page, plus additions and enhancements specific to XL C/C++ Advanced Edition V7.0 for Linux, as described on the XL C/C++ Advanced Edition for Linux Features and benefits page.
