SafeDesk Solution's SafeDesk Enterprise 2.0 now contains integrated support for Windows applications. This new version contains many updates and ease-of-use features over previous Linux thin-client solutions and is currently shipping.

Enterprise 2.0's most innovative feature is the out-of-the box capability to run Windows applications from the Linux desktop. Additional feature upgrades include improved support for audio, USB support, an integrated Advanced User Desktop Management system, and support for Windows Terminal Services.

SafeDesk Enterprise 2.0 is based upon the latest Novell Linux distribution, and includes the latest LTSP modules along with SafeDesk's own integration, and management modules, which actively enables administrators to deploy, integrate and manage disparate systems across remote networks.

Enterprise 2.0 runs on any standards based Intel or AMD based Linux server, and does not require external boot appliances, yet can scale to multiple servers for clustering, load-balancing, or separation of boot and authentication functions for custom deployments. Workstations can be existing Intel Pentium based PC's with PXE boot support, or SafeDesk's small-footprint fanless workstations.
