product details
Combining extensive support for smart cards and digital signatures, Nexus Personal allows end-users to conduct secure financial transactions, e-commerce and other security critical services from the desktop. Nexus Personal seamlessly integrates this functionality into a number of third-party applications, eliminating the need to install customized software solutions.
Smartcard Support
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems uild on the uniqueness and security of private RSA keys. These keys are stored in a variety of tokens. The smart card's operating system prevents keys stored on the card from being removed or tampered with – even by the cardholders. The user has access to the functions of the card through the use of a PIN code.
Life-cycle management of Certificates
Nexus Personal supports secure on-line certificate registration and updates. This means for example that the end-user can update or add certificates without replacing the card or physically contacting a Registration Authority. Secondary certificates are important when using a single key pair in different environments.
Digital Signatures
Nexus Personal adds the capability to create digital signatures with a standard Internet browser. The signature function is implemented as an ActiveX control and as a browser plug-in, which can be acti-vated from the server application or from a JavaScript in the client.
Smooth integration with third party products
Because Nexus Personal implements the PKCS#11 standard and include a Microsoft Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP), it can be integrated seamlessly with a number of third party products. For example, Personal adds smart card support to a variety of Microsoft applications, such as Windows domain logon, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), secure e-mail, signed code, protected Office documents, Web browser SSL and Web Services Security.
Legislation compliance
The cryptographic libraries of Nexus Personal are compliant with German Signature Act (SigG) §17 and German Signature Ordinance (SigV) §15. Hence, Personal is a viable security component for use with governmental e-services.
