product details

Multi-Service Support: NetDirector ships standard with the following modules: Apache, BIND, DHCP, Samba, NFS, VSFTP, Sendmail, Postfix and Users and Groups. More modules such as iptables, Red Hat Network Manager, and LDAP are coming in the second quarter of 2006 and others will follow. With NetDirector's Open API, modules can be quickly and affordably implemented to manage additional services.
Multi-Platform Support: NetDirector supports every major Linux distribution running on IBM's entire server line, from mainframes to rackmounts, and on x86 hardware. Solaris and BSD are also supported.
NetDirector allows you to see your network from a simple web GUI, and see only the servers running the service you want to manage at a time. For example, if you need to make changes to your email system and select Postfix, the Server Tree will filter to only show you the servers in your network that are running Postfix. However, just because the interface is graphical interface this doesn't mean that you lose control over or flexibility of how to alter configuration files as NetDirector gives you the ability to fully edit configuration files but with the benefit of change tracking, backups, and access control that you wouldn't have if you manually edited those files.
The Benefits of NetDirector: NetDirector, with its intuitive GUI-based system to implement changes to multiple servers simultaneously, allows Administrators to more efficiently manage corporate and ISP Linux networks. And NetDirector's logging and rollback capabilities ensure that if an error is made, it can be identified and corrected rapidly.
Reduces Errors: Studies show that configuration errors are a leading cause of application downtime. NetDirector can dramatically improve your Linux server configuration process, ensuring that Administrators only access the servers for which they are responsible, and enabling the rapid recovery from mistakes when they do occur.
Provides Audit Trails to Ease Regulatory Compliance: NetDirector has full role-based login capabilities, providing IT managers with an easy way to ensure that Administrators are only given permission to implement changes on the services and/or servers for which they are responsible.
Policy Management: Our unique server grouping capabilities let you organize servers in the NetDirector system however they are deployed and managed in your network. So, if your servers are allocated to Departments, and managed departmentally, you can represent the servers in NetDirector in this way. Then, using NetDirector's role-based login functionality, you can give your departmental administrators permission to manage only the servers in their department.
Summary: NetDirector is working to become a complete open source management platform. The community open source project is located at the NetDirector website and will be the primary place for community members to get involved with the development and enhancement of future modules. Emu Software will follow an aggressive schedule to add more modules and managed services to expand our offering.
