product details
SAMS provides secure remote and local access to host systems across insecure public network connections. SAMS provides authentication, authorization and session selection services to users running standard emulators running elsewhere on the network.
Protocols supported include TN3270 for Mainframe access, Tn5250 for System i (AS/400, i Series, i5) and VT terminal access (including vt100 and vt 220) for UNIX and Linux.
SAMS provides a customized authorization and session selection service front-end based on customer-defined requirements. When a user connects to the SAMS server that user is first presented with a username/password screen. The authentication can be made against an internal database of usernames and passwords or authentication can be made against a centralized authentication repository using an LDAP authorization interface.
Common authentication repositories include RACF, ACF2, Active Directory, RSA (Radius), and Top Secret, among others.
Upon successful authentication, the users role is determined and a custom screen is presented to allow the user to select one of several sessions available to him. Once a session is selected, the SAMS server will then connect the user to the destination session and proxy data between the emulator and the session using secure SSL or SSH protocols.
