product details

For Novell SecureLogin customers concerned by rising security threats and weaknesses inherent in password only authentication, ActivIdentity provides a strong authentication solution fully integrated with Novell SecureLogin to enable secure, easy and cost-efficient access to Single Sign-On enabled applications.

The solution natively integrates with the Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS™) to provide secure access to Novell SecureLogin and all other Novell applications leveraging NMAS.

How it works

With the ActivIdentity One Time Password NMAS Method, Novell SecureLogin will require a one time password authentication, before granting access to Single Sign On enabled application.

This password is generated by a handheld security token that the user must have. It is valid only once so it cannot be replayed.

Features and benefits

Comply with security requirements: Address IT security and compliance requirements by preventing unauthorized access to information.

Enhanced security: Weak static passwords are replaced by strong one time passwords and two-factor authentication: something the user has (the one time password token) and something the user knows (the PIN code). The token generated password is valid only once so it cannot be replayed.

Flexible: Can be configured to protect all applications or selected ones with additional security requirements.

Reduced administrative costs: No third-party server is required, all user and device information is stored in Novell eDirectory™. All management functions, including full token life cycle management is done within the iManager console, avoiding the need for a new management console paradigm.

Return on investment: Enables strong authentication to all SSO-enabled applications as well as any Novell product that leverages Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) authentication.
