product details

For Novell® eDirectory™ customers concerned by rising security threats and weaknesses inherent in password authentication, ActivIdentity provides a strong authentication solution fully integrated with the Novell environment to enable secure, easy and cost effective access to network applications and resources.

The solution natively integrates the market-leading ActivClient® Smart Card middleware, with the Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS®) and Novell Certificate Login (NCL) to provide secure access to Novell eDirectory and all other applications leveraging NMAS.

Features and benefits

Enhanced security: Enhances security by enforcement of two-factor authentication: something the user has (the smartcard or USB token) and something the user knows (the PIN code).

Improved user experience: End-users no longer need to remember their desktop or network username and password, as it is automatically provided by their smart card or USB token.

Comply with security requirements: Addresses IT security and compliance requirements by preventing unauthorized access to information.

Ease of deployment: Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Novell Client and other Novell products such as NMAS, SecureLogin and Novell Identity Manager.

Future-proof: Supports a broad range of smart cards, readers and USB tokens.

Return on investment: With ActivClient, organizations can deploy strong authentication for Windows, Linux, VPN/dial-up, Web Login, as well as data security and digital signature. Additionally, ActivClient can be combined with Novell SecureLogin to enable single sign on with advanced security features that leverage smart cards and USB tokens.
