ACTIVIDENTITY
Novell Technology Partner
product details
For Novell iChain and Access Manager customers concerned by rising security threats and the weakness of password authentication. ActivIdentity provides a strong authentication solution fully integrated with Novell environment to enable secure, easy and cost-efficient access to remote applications and resources.
Combined with ActivClient, the market-leading smart card middleware, iChain or Access Manager requires two-factor authentication (insertion of the smart card or USB token, and typing of the PIN code) before enabling access to applications.
Features and benefits
Comply with security requirements: Addresses IT security and compliance requirements by preventing unauthorized access to information.Enhanced security: Weak static passwords are replaced by strong one time passwords and two-factor authentication: something the user has (the one time password token) and something the user knows (the PIN code). The token generated password is valid only once so it cannot be replayed.
Flexible: Can be configured to protect all applications or selected ones with additional security requirements.
Ease of deployment: No third-party server is required, all user and device information is stored in Novell eDirectory.
Reduced administrative costs: All management functions, including full token life cycle management are done within the Novell iManager console, avoiding the need for a new management console paradigm.
Return on investment: Enables strong authentication for web applications and network resources as well as for any product that leverages Novell Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) authentication.
