eDirectory Login is an NMAS biometric plug-in for authentication replacing the single network password used to access Novell eDirectory with a fingerprint capture method designed for Novell. On the client side, the NMAS plug-in offers multi-sensor plug and play interoperability as well as fingerprint only identification mode. On the server side, the NMAS plug-in offers multiplatform support in Linux, Netware and Windows. Fujitsu, a leading provider of customer-focused information technology and manufacturer of the MDF200 surface sensor or MDF320 swipe sensor, combined with the 123ID’s Inc., Universal biometric Matching System to deliver eDirectory Login, a biometric enterprise solution much needed in the industry. Features and Benefits of eDirectory Login include: Security through biometrics-Improve IT security and diminish password management by using biometrics to access Novell’s eDirectory running on Windows, Linux or Netware. Identification and verification match modes- eDirectory Login “Identify”, a complementary feature, allows authentication without typing a username. This advanced capability delivers a full one-to-many authentication to the standard biometric verification package bringing the ultimate convenience. Ease of deployment-eDirectory Login comes with a self-enrollment NMAS sequence that allows users to biometrically enroll themselves into eDirectory via the Post Login method without the need to be validated by the administrator. Improved Administrator experience-Its seamless installation is like any other NMAS solution from Novell making the setup and configuration simple for any Novell eDirectory administrator. Infrastructure built for evolution and migration-The 123ID universal fingerprint technology is built for seamless plug and play addition of future sensors. Compatibility with other Novell products- Synchronized and seamless coexistence with other NMAS methods such as SecureLogin, etc. The 123ID technology also offers native biometric compatibility under the Novell Linux client.

Remote station protection with fingerprints- Novell users will no longer need to remember complex passwords and with the "disconnected logon" feature enabled, a user can log on to workstations biometrically whether connected to a network or not.

Hardware interoperability- eDirectory Login method is interoperable with most biometric scanners on the market, allowing enrollment with one scanner and authentication with another sensor allowing hardware evolution. Sensor interoperability offers mix and match flexibility allowing the use of the best sensor suitable to the individual user.

FIPS-201 and 378 biometric compatibility- eDirectory Login carries native 378 templates as delivered by the 123ID biometric technology.
