product details
The use of common accounts is a convenience for your overburdened IT department, but it's also a serious security risk. A single compromised account could grant an unauthorized user with unrestricted peer level access throughout your entire network.
Random Password Manager is the solution to the common accounts credentials dilemma. By periodically randomizing root account passwords and local administrator passwords throughout the enterprise, all of your systems maintain unique account credentials, preventing one compromised password from threatening the security of your entire network. And with remote recovery of passwords available on demand, your delegated users can safely retrieve the temporary administrative credentials required to accomplish routine systems management operations.
Randomization for all accounts in the enterprise is managed from one central console based on schedules established by your administrators. Users can quickly access a unique password for their systems through a delegated web interface. Once they have completed their administrative tasks-such as installing applications or device drivers-the password is checked in and automatically spun to create a new, unique account. This is an especially significant productivity benefit for remote or after hours workers who do not have immediate access to the Help Desk, and for reducing the expenses and demands of 7/24 remote systems administration.
Random Password Manager also helps ensure that your organization maintains compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, PCI, and other regulatory standards. Compliance regulations stipulate the length of time that administrator passwords remain available, and require companies to provide proof of the effectiveness of these controls.
Your IT staff monitors and maintains fully audited control over which administrator accounts a user can retrieve, ensuring secure access to the passwords at all times. The integrity of the passwords in the stored database is maintained through AES-256 bit encryption.
Random Password Manager is a multi-threaded, SQL server-based application that deploys without installing agents to client systems, ensuring easy integration into your existing IT infrastructure. And its support for multiple platforms-including Linux, UNIX, and Windows-makes it an effective solution for even the largest and most complex enterprise.
