Main functions of the OfficeObjects® Intelligent Content Manager
OfficeObjects® Intelligent Content Manager tool platform's wide functional range and ongoing research into the system's development allow it to be used in the following areas:
Information management: Storing, updating, version control and parallel operation control, multilingual support and a search function for information stored in knowledge resources. The automation of functions allow system configuration within a defined time, or in response to predefined questions, it performs activities related to the managed resources, such as archiving or automatic classification of information entered.
Storage of information: The system stores and optimally distributes data in heterogenic data store-rooms e.g. relational data bases, file systems and servers, XML repositories. It facilitates the integration of existing data store-rooms without the need for data migration, so that integration of existing information resources into the repository becomes easier.
Version control and parallel operation: The system allows for user modifications to provide improved control over their work. It is possible to return to a specified historical version as required. All information on changes to the information resources is recorded by the version tracking feature, which allows the auditing of all operations performed on information content.
Multilingual Support: The product enables the use of various language versions of information in the repository. It also offers available language-dependent search mechanisms, e.g. searches take into account accidence.
Information search: The system offers a range of services related to the search for information resources included in the repository, with the application of various search methods, such as searching by the objects’ attributes, on the basis of vocabulary data describing the information, by navigating categorizing structures and gradually narrowing down the set of search results, and full text search for information including selected words or phrases in the text. This last mechanism provides support for files in formats, such as MS Word documents, Open Office or PDF files, made possible by the range of filters and converters included in the product.
Information view: Its functionality allows for the delivery of files saved in various formats via an Internet browser i.e. without the need for installation of software to support/open the given file type. Information security. This tool is responsible for the verification of user access rights to the corporation’s information resources . Extensive and flexible systems of access rights allow the definition of effective user grouping structures and information resources, providing controlled access to them. Events of access to information resources by users are registered and can later be analyzed.
