OfficeObjects® Workflow is an embedded, commercial workflow management system which supports definition, enactment, and monitoring of business processes in accordance with appropriate corporate standards. Business processes are modelled by use of a subset of Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN, version 1.0). Description of business processes is detailed and available as (computerised) business process definitions represented via business process meta model. This meta model consists of three parts: process definition, process enactment as well as business process environment (i.e. resources, data and services). The definition part is an extension of the meta model proposed by the Workflow Management Coalition in TC-1025 (TC-1003, TC-1011). The main format to interchange process definition represented via meta model is XML Process Definition Language (XPDL, version 1.0). In addition, execution of process instances is visualised by using an extended BPMN notation
As a member of the OfficeObjects® product line, OfficeObjects® WorkFlow has been successfully applied in many Polish medium and large scales IT systems both for public institutions and commercial organisations. For example, in the European Exchange Documents – Poland (EWD - P) system our workflow management system has been used to implement the process to elaborate the official Polish position concerning adjustment of the newly associated states law to the EU procedures and regulations. At the moment the EWD - P system is used by selected Polish ministries and is planned to be used by all the Polish ministries and central government agencies (about 15 000 users). In the other example OfficeObjects® WorkFlow is used to process orders and complaints of the bath appliance products in Sanplast S.A.
Rodan Systems has also been actively participating in EU research projects. So far, OfficeObjects® WorkFlow has been used as workflow management system in three EU projects: Intelligent CONtent Management System, Component+, and recently in Adaptive Service Grid (FP6, IP project). The product will be also used in two new EU projects, namely eGovBus and OneStepGov. During these first three projects our product has been extended of such adaptive features as dynamic workflow participant assignment, advanced time management – ePERT method and Business Process Query Language.
