Attractive discounts and margins
To provide the proper incentive for its OEM partners, Novell has implemented a flexible and transparent discount model. Your discounts will be determined following a two stage model, which provides you with an attractive Base Discount and an additional Volume Discount. The Volume discount is determined and adapted on an annual basis based on your revenue contribution to Novell. This combination of Base and Volume discounts guarantee highest margins for your OEM business with Novell. Usually emerging markets do have higher market entry barriers than mature or evolving markets. For our partners who serve emerging markets with their OEM bundles, Novell honors the extra enabling effort by granting upfront volume discounts based on business plans and sales forecasts by our partners.

Special offering for Appliances OEM
For all partners who build appliances based on SUSE Linux Enterprise, very attractive purchasing models are available with the new OEM program.

Comarketing opportunities
To support comarketing activities with our direct OEM partners, the program provides opportunities to market your company and products with Novell, such as cosponsorship at events, advertising, product and press announcements, to help with. Exclusive Linux Product and Support Offerings for Novell OEM Partners
Besides Novell's standard Linux Business with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, Novell provides its OEM partners with exclusive product and support offerings that will help you differentiate your offerings from other vendors. These offerings include the following:

Exclusive Products for OEM Partners

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for Entry Level Servers Entry Level Servers are small Servers with a maximum of 1 CPU socket. Novells IHV OEM partners are selling such servers usually at very low price points (very often below US$ 1000.-). With the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for Entry Level Servers, Novell now provides the same Enterprise class operating system for this price sensitive market segment as for Mid- to High-end Servers. From a functional perspective there is no difference between SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for Entry Level Servers, also full subscription and the complete portfolio of NTS support is available for the SUSE Linux Enterprise for Entry Level Servers.

Limitation: product can only be bundle with 1CPU socket systems
Requirement: minimum order quantity 1500 units per year.
OEM List price: US$ 175, includes 1 year Subscription and Basic Support

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for High Performance Clusters Novell moved the complete High Performance Cluster Business to his OEM partners – that means that from code 10 onwards special pricing for High Performance Clusters is only available to partners being entitled to purchase from the OEM price list.

Limitation: list price per each 8 CPU sockets in a compute node
Requirement: High Performance Cluster needs to have a minimum setup of 8x8CPU sockets
OEM List price: US$ 100 per each 8 CPU sockets in a compute node, including 1 year Subscription and Basic Support

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for Blade Chassis This special offering addresses partners who are bundling SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with their Blade Chassis. Dependent on the Blade population of the Chassis the exclusive Blade Chassis pricing provides an advantage of up to 50% compared to regular SUSE Linux Enterprise Server pricing.

Limitation: price per Chassis independent of Chassis population
Requirement: part numbers are dedicated to Blade Chassis models or Building Blocks
List price: (maximum Blade capacity of Chassis x US$ 349.-) -50%

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop – Volume offerings In case your OEM business serves the consumer desktop market (no need for support) the Volume Line offering might be the right solution for you. You will be entitled to purchase SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop with 2 month subscription for deepest price point possible to meet WTO regulations and serve price sensitive volume markets. Upgrade option: Novell Standard Support (12x5) provides NTS support for standard Business hours, which can be combined with all Linux product offerings on the OEM price list. This provides full flexibility for your business, as you can choose to sell your own services or bundles Novell Technical Services offerings with your solution.

Requirements: full Subscription product required
OEM List price: US$ 449, 1 year NTS Standard Support

Upgrade option: Novell Premium Support (24x7) provides priority NTS support, which can be combined with all Linux product offerings on the OEM price list. Again, this provides full flexibility for your business, as you can choose to sell your own services or bundles Novell Technical Services offerings with your solution.

Requirements: full Subscription product required
OEM List price: US$ 1149, 1 year NTS Priority Support
