Novell OEM Program Requirements

There are two levels of OEM licensing with Novell. Determine which requirements you meet and sign up for the appropriate level.

OEM Licensing for System Builders

If you are a system builder who assembles or manufactures privately branded servers or you pre-configure hardware for targeted vertical markets, Novell has a great opportunity for you to grow your business.

The following is a summary of the requirements for the entitlement to sell under the OEM Licensing for System Builders. To qualify for this System Builder opportunity your organization must:

Assemble or manufacture brand-identity/white-box servers or sell pre-configured vertical software solutions.
Become a member of the Novell PartnerNet for Technology Partners program at the free Ready Level or higher. Sign up now.
Purchase products from the OEM Price List through an authorized Novell distributor by authenticating yourself through your PartnerNet member-ID.
Sell your products pre-loaded or bundled (drop in the box) with Novell products, according to our definition of OEM Business.

OEM Licensing for direct OEM Partners

The following is a summary of the requirements for membership in the Novell OEM Program for partners who want to order from the Novell OEM (NOB) price list directly at Novell. To qualify for the OEM Licensing for direct Partners under the Novell OEM Program your organization must:

Assemble or manufacture brand-identity/white-box servers or sell pre-configured vertical software solutions.
Have annual revenue run rates of US$1 million or more.
Meet all necessary credit requirements set by the Novell Credit Department.
Become a member of the Novell PartnerNet for Technology Partners program at the Silver Level or higher. Sign up now.
Maintain a minimum hard-bundle royalty stream to Novell of no less than US$50,000.00 of OEM product per Novell's fiscal year (November 1 –October 31).
Provide level 1 and 2 support on those Novell products that are factory installed and/or integrated into your bundled product (OEM product). Novell should be contacted only in matters where support escalation is required.
Execute an IHV/OEM contract with Novell.
Sell your products pre-loaded or bundled (drop in the box) with Novell products, according to our definition of OEM Business.
